Every young person deserves someone in their corner.
Think Fred CIC
Think Fred CIC is a Community Interest Company based in Reading, providing free early intervention and targeted support for young people aged 8–18 across Berkshire.
We deliver three core strands of provision: one-to-one mentoring, outdoor wellbeing activities, and open-access youth club sessions. Our programmes are designed to be accessible to all young people, with a particular focus on those who are care-experienced, justice-involved, or facing significant social or emotional barriers.
Our outdoor provision includes The Pickers Project — a wellbeing walking programme that gets young people active, connected to nature, and contributing positively to their local environment through community litter picking. The Pickers Project supports young people's mental health and wellbeing while instilling a sense of pride, responsibility, and belonging in the communities they call home.
Our practice is grounded in trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches, drawing on over a decade of professional experience with youth justice, violence reduction partnership , and social inclusion. We work collaboratively with families, schools, and statutory partners to ensure young people receive consistent, wrap-around support.
Think Fred CIC was established in memory of our founders father Fred Greene, and his values of compassion, perseverance, and belief in people underpin everything we do.
Choosing Think Fred CIC means selecting a partner committed to your growth. My personalised mentoring approach ensures that every session is tailored to meet the unique needs of each young person. With a focus on holistic development, participants gain critical life skills while engaging in various outdoor activities that promote teamwork and resilience. Additionally, my work is grounded in fostering a welcoming community, giving every individual a chance to flourish in a supportive environment. Together, we create pathways for success, fostering confidence, independence, and lifelong learning.
